![]() click here to return to the index Friday, December 24, 2004![]() Christ is the reason for the season, he came to Earth and one day he's going to come back - cummon! It's Christmas Eve and I'm sat in my dressing gown listening to Feeder doing a bit of web-editing and CSI watching before going to Paul and Emily's house this afternoon. Have been hearing from all sorts of people over the past few days which has been really nice (Hiya to Nadine, Helen, Sarah, Sam, Ally and all in DRAT!) I now feel very Christmassy. This evening have our traditional Christmas Eve beef roast (with lots of lovely visitors) and then I'll be going off to Midnight Mass with my mother - on return I shall open this silver envelope from Helen that has been annoying me (in a nice way - I just want to see what is in it!) and is sat by my computer! All other presents shall have to wait until tomorrow afternoon after lunch! Yesterday was really quite a nice day (though I did have cabin fever at one point!) got my dapper suit, watched some CSI, visited Ally and went to Willoby's nine lessons and carols with my parents. The service was pretty fantastic - straight down the line no messing readings, carols, large choir (with a humourous firey director!), and an organist. Couldn't have asked for better. No technology either (which was quite refreshing), there was no heating either which wasn't quite so good - it was rather chilly! The church was packed and afterwards the warm mince pies and mulled wine was super thing to be offering (I had a good few mince pies and had to hold a glass of wine though I wasn't drinking it to 'look good' at my Father's instruction. My mother has been cooking bread again this morning and the fresh aroma is once again rising up the stairs reminding me that I haven't yet had breakfast and am feeling rather hungry! Really looking forward to the days ahead, It's so good to be with my family and also good to be reminded how God came to earth as Jesus! There's no greateer reason to celebrate in my oppinion. Have a very Merry Christmas. God Bless...

If all one has to do to 'look good' in church is hold a glass of wine in one hand, does that mean one can be scandalously naughty the rest of the time? Your dear papa may have just liberated many people from their respectable lives... ;o)
Would a whole bottle (and actually drinking a drop, or maybe offering it to the rest of the congregation) confer a air of extra good behaviour?! Off to find a wine glass for the Christingle this afternoon... A dangerously naughty game of Monopoly xxxxxxxxxxx
a good thought! I think that respectibility in church should always be kept to a ....... minimum! Ha Ha! Sam x
King George states that as long as ladies wear hats and men don't you are respectable at church. Wine should not be drank at all..mulled or otherwise. King George xXx

I now have a proper name and a beautiful blog (how pretty) come and see it http://kinggeorgexxx.blogspot.com! King George xXx
I think it's important to be good and respectable at church. You'd never find me wearing a dress and a wig in church for example (or not nowadays any way) and I do have to agree with the whole hat thing - never really liked men wearing baseball hats in church, really peeed me off! Anyhoo got guests really shouldn't be doing this! Have a good Christmas. God Bless...
I couldn't find a wine glass and wore fuscia pink fishnets...oh dear.
Ah well I can add respectability to the long list of New Year improvement resolutions ;o) Reverence is a fine thing and not easily come by nowadays in some places...woohoo Anglican churches are the place to be!! Yay beauteous services... Love, a Northen Anglican in residence xxxxxx
I have to say I did enjoy my services over the Christmas period. I ended up going along to four once I got back home - Nine Lessons and Carols at Willoughby, Midnight Mass at Emmanuel, Christmas Day Family Celebration at Emmanuel and St.Stephen's Day Communion at Emmanuel. They were all fantastic and very inspiring - just what you need when you're back home.
