![]() click here to return to the index Thursday, December 23, 2004![]() What is it? I just really do not have a clue. The envelope is silver and highly sellotaped, there's some sort of card and present in there and I can't open it until Christmas day... It's nearly lunchtime in the Guilder household, the smell of bread in the breadmaker is wafting up the stairs making me feel rather hungry and making me wish I'd had a slightly more substancial breakfast than a quickly eaten half bowl of cheerios. The reason for eating the Cherrios at such a speed was that it was 'Suit Buying Day'. The day which happens once every two years or so when some guy sticks a tape measure around you and comes out with all these different things that you should be wearing that actually fit! Today's 'tape measure monkey' (!) was very complimentery, saying I had a very narrow waist for someone with such wide shoulders (yeah I nearly choked on thin air too) though he did loose some marks as he near fainted at the width of my neck! Anyhoo a new suit and empty wallet later I was walking around town, grabbing a copy of the times (from GT News just like old times) and speaking to the traders on the market (also like old times). That was before returning home sending some e-cards and deciding to update my blog. Last night was really good at the Drama team thing. It was really nice to see all the old team again and they were all in fine spirit (though at one point I did think I'd gone to the old people's home when a conversation on cheese with cranberries in started). Also said hello quickly to Paul and Emily who were watching the Simpsons, Emily had broken her arm falling off a piano stool and was ever so desperate to tell me all about it! Still doing design work at the moment. Made my brother a site yesterday that he's just got to go through and fill the information in on. I think it looks pretty swish using a bit of old school imagery and image maps with new school CSS and blogs! Got some other (more secretive stuff) under my hat (well stored on my PC) that I'm working on too which all in all is very exiciting. Anyway bread must be ready to eat by now! God Bless...
Comments:
When my brother and i used to live at home he had a suit shopping day every couple years as well(i had to be dragged along to keep mum company!).He had the same thing said about him and they call it an Athletic Cut so there you go you have an athlets figure. Looking forward to seeing what you have cooking for your next website!Have a very happy christmas(to you and your family as well!)!
'Athletic Cut' does sound very good (if a tad laughable in my case!). I went with my dad to get it but once I got in there the 'tape measure monkey' must have felt a great sense of pity (as I was sporting light blue denim jeans with holes in the knee, a knackered pair of nike-eeees and a long sleve high neck off-white top!). He pretty much did all the stuff! Did I say my secret stuff was a web site...hmmmmmmm ;o) God Bless...
wow i only have had 1 suit fitted and that suit DOESNT fit anymore. ahem.
so like your brothers site. when you leave a message it loses the top logos and stuff!! just to let you know. ho hum
Really, really, really like today's picture and quote, any chance of having it as a desktop background? Where do you get them from, do you do them yourself? Well done with the site it looks great. (it's me Sam by the way not Anonymous just can't be bothered to sign up!) hugs n kisses!!!!!!
Thanks Si, noticed that too today, need to set up permanent anchors on all the graphics which I've put on me to do list for tomorrow! Sam, hello nice to hear from you! I've answered your question about where the pictures come from before and rather than do it again check out This Post's Comments. I also use some of my own and even scan stuff I have lying around! Like the idea of desktop backgrounds have put it on my lists of things I could do keep an eye out over the next few days. The phrase 'tape measure monkey' is a very good phrase! He was kind cheeky like a monkey and he had a tape measure - hence the phrase tape messure monkey. Anyway I've just got back from Church and am now listening to Feeder (once again), the smell of toast downstairs is making me think of going down and joining my Dad... God Bless...
do you know what.
i love the way you link to other parts of your blog. i wish i wrote something that i could link back to!!! lol hey thanks for being gracious about me looking at your sites and noticing stuff hope you dont mind.
No it's great! Firstly it's grand that people visit the sites! (I do like the sidebar thing on Your Site with all the links to other peoples blogs including mine by the way!). Secondly it's useful to get feedback because otherwise I might produce rubbish that people just won't bother using. Today I'm doing some feedback work on mine and Matt's sites so if you're not at midnight mass you can check them out! God Bless...
Why thank you my darling ;) So lovely to be adressed (thanks for the e-mail too, might reply to it one day!). Like the site by the way - much better than the orange tango design! Sam xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (more kisses to come!)
OK, have now sorted the problem with Matt's site have just got to convince him to sit down and enter some information on it! Am sat at Paul and Emily's house using one of their computers whilst Emily plays 'Simpsons Hit and Run' and Paul plays 'Need for Speed Underground'. Am finishing some concept 'drawings' for my new secretive and fantastic plan which will change the world and help somebody else! Ha Ha Ha!!
You listen to far too much Feeder. You should try something calmer! Might reduce your hyperactivity! King George xXx
Well I'm currently listening to Good Charlotte - The Young and the Hopeless (I don't know if that helps!). It was an inspired present from Josh. On another line the silver envelope contained a postcard of an aquatic nature, a pack of chocolate button, some brown sugar and a 'Boating Beauties' gift voucher for a boat trip in Exmouth (avec a Turtle Herbs Chocolate Truffle). How exciting! God Bless...
