I AM TIRED!! I'm just waiting for the chicken to defrost in the microwave so I can have dinner and after that I am going straight to bed. I think the change in time has got me out of sync.
Talking bout getting out of sync today was very much like that. Instead of going off to cluster early we went into school to do a lesson which was OK part from we have to cut a bit (where we showed the 'U' version of the Passion trailer) because it's too controversial. The year 8's all listened though which was a bit of a bonus and it was all in all a great lesson. We then headed off to cluster which was really good, after a bit of worship (quite funny how none of us knew the words to the songs!) we had a bit of a share care and pray time which was really nice. I was able to go along with Matt (from Paignton), Catherine (our cluster leader), Ute (from Dawlish) and Katie (Torquay) and we did the whole praying thing. We also found a stash of Creation Fest stickers which we covered the front of the house with - right funny laugh it woz! This afternoon I've mainly been doing work on SWYMing.org.uk and I've just realised that it's the first of the month tomoz so I'm meant to be publishing all the Easter stuff that I've been sent for bigfattoothbrush - so much to do NO TIME TO DO IT! I think I'm going to wrap up BFT.org.uk cos I can't get someone to do it! Going to put my Big Fat Productions website on it for now which is along with aguilder.co.uk going flash my Easter Project. Anyhows I'm going to go and eat my chicken. Don't let the bugs bite! Tuesday, March 30, 2004
Going out for a meal in a mo (hurrah!) at the farmhouse - I'm going to go for the full mix which should be good! It's a massive load of different meats and stuff with a pound of chips for around £10. The ultimate meal experience - so I'm told.
Had a relitivly good day today. Was late in because I waited around to give Josh a disk but he never turned up which was a bit annoying cos I missed my lift and had to walk in. Lessons were OKish today, not many left now before the end of term - though we are doing the whole Easter Lessons thing (which I'm not really fly with - I think we watered stuff down too much and what we're doing reminds me of those groups that came into school when I was a lad and I thought were pap! I just hope that I'm proved wrong!!). Been playing 'Sheep' which is an oldish game I bought yesterday. You have to guide a load of sheep around a course and help them escape with out tem being destroyed by the evil pear and his minions or the other random things on the landscape. It's a very odd but quite fun game and the graphical quality is very good. Just going to grab some 3D graphic tools so I can get going on the new flash site that I'm not giving too much away on yet (due to the whole competition thing)! Also got a program to design fonts so I'm looking at doing my handwriting - it takes a while but is rather cool! Enjoy your day!

At the egglestons, doing some work on their PC for them (like all the Anti-Virus and Firewall stuff. Had a good weekend. Friday was the 12hour disco which was a killer (I was rather tired after it) and my set from 1pm till 2pm (known as the G.A.Y. (God and You) hour) which was dance and rock music mix.
Saturday I had Men's breakfast in the morning which was nice after the disco (though I felt I would fall asleep) and then had Ruth's birthday celebration thing (we went out to the Powder Monkey for a meal (wetherburger, chips and beer!) and then back to watch a video - bringing down the house - which was OK but not exactly amazing). Got a good nights sleep after watching some rather poor rugby and lost and hour somewhere along the line! Sunday was OK part from I had to go to a different church as part of my commitment to ICE. We were at Scott Drive and I did bog all (apart from click a mouse button) all in all it was rather pointless!! Anyway got to go and get some food, good day today some lessons and a lunchtime club and stuff have a good un! Friday, March 26, 2004
I thought I'd better post now because otherwise it's not going to happen on what is going to be a bit of a crazy day. Got all sorts of stuff coming up, in for the Team Meeting (the bit where we read the bible and pray together - http://www.exmouth-ice.co.uk). Got some lessons, break support, doing a lunchtime party for a couple of the year 7's in school today, so some games and stuff to sort out which is a good laugh.
Then this afternoon/evening it's YO Club and Powerpack (http://www.elevate.org.uk) the last one's before the Easter serivce next Friday, so I'm on the case of getting Jesus mentioned quite a lot tonight using my lovely evangelistic playing cards that I got from the Discovery guys and gals. Then at around 11pm I'm going down to the Axis Centre for what can only be described as total madness for the last 9 hours of a 12 hour disco. Not all to sure how great the whole thing is myself but It's a requirement not a choice (cos else I'd be in bed). Saturday I've got the Men's breakfast in the morning - might also give David a buzz today to see if he wants to go walking - last week we walked coastal to Budleigh Salterton (it was rather windy) and then back the country way on the old railway line. Well I'm going to go and prepare for the day with a cup of tea, some rice crispies and some toast with golden syrup on (mmmmmmm). Have a gud un! Thursday, March 25, 2004
Wow it's been six days since I last posted and all sorts of exciting stuff has happened since...
> Losing my cashpoint card after a power cut (which was more annoying than exciting) after a powercut at the local Tesco - it's going to be a week or so till I have any money (though I can see it sitting in the account - torture or what!). > Being Ill! Yes I managed to catch the horrible chesty thing that has been going around, so I spent Monday feeling a bit pants, near death on Tuesday and better on Wednesday. > Watching Smallville! Yes Smallville is great at the moment Clark's dad has just colapsed in a heap and I don't know whether he'll die (odds-on) or if he'll just become a vegetable!? > Ironing - a new exploit for common man. It was one giant step for man and two and half hours of suffering for all mankind! So after doing my 5 tee-shirts and 2 pairs of Jeans (at an average speed of an article every 25 minutes it was fun). Just had Supergang where we made cakes and did an Easter Egg Hunt (which was fun except the fact that I can't eat the chocolate!). Also done some tidying today - which wasn't fun but composulry! Website wise just messing with SWYMing off-line at the moment adding some movie clips and stuff. Also toying with the idea of making the whole aguilder.co.uk site flash and adding all the CV type stuff to it - maybe my Easter project. Well posting should be more regular this time (as long as the broadband continues to work! (Please Lord)) Have a good night! Friday, March 19, 2004
In school today, had a nice day yesterday doing Supergang and stuff and also had the whole mentoring thing going on. Only two weeks left working in the school this halft term (hurrah!) I've got maths and geography lessons today which should be fun and tonight it's powerpack and YO club which'll be good as well.
I'm doing the talk 2nite @ powerpack in which I'm using a movie from http://www.bmwfilms.com called ticker which asks the question how much is the life of one man worth, and I'm going to be challenging the kids to look at how much their life is worth. Have a gud day yourselves... Wednesday, March 17, 2004
Hiya, you may be wondering why I haven't posted for a while - well we lost the internet connection (OH NO!!!). Yes the broadband went wrong somewhere along the line and we had an orange light on the modem instead of a green one. But a couple of minutes ago I sat and the light turned green suddenly and now it all works again Hurrah! Today I've been to cluster which was a bit dull - but hey I like the people there, and I've been doing some video editing.
So far I've edited a project from when my cluster and the east cluster went to Paris for the day last december. There's a full edit which is pretty much all I shot, and a music montage. I've also been working on the Supergang video which has the kids from the group telling us what they think of Easter and about Jesus at Easter (well it made me laugh!). Got to decide if I am going to go along to the church social or if the coursework that I ment to be doing is going to take priority. I'm currently thinking Church Social - which is playing Skittles at the Farmhouse Pub. Web sites are going well, just sorting out SWYMing.org.uk made much easier by having an internet connection again and I'm also looking into a site from which I can advertise my website creation talents and my media production group. Anyhows I'm going to get to work now my connection is back (Wahey!!) - just seen it's already six o clock - better be off!! Cherrio! Sunday, March 14, 2004
Yesterday was a good day, went up walking on Dartmoor which was a great laugh (it was snowing and all during the walk we were like little kids playing in the snow, jumping in it and of course throwing it at each other! Took a reel of film which I'll get developed and stick the results on here...
The whole Christ Church Exmouth thing seems to be settling down, they had this big meeting yesterday and I think that a lot of stuff was worked through. Still gotta keep praying for these guys and girls and hope that it all gets better.Took the Egglestones and Katie down to KFC for a Family Bucket (which was rather tasty). Just been making an interactive powerpoint presentation which used images as controlling objects. It moves characters around depending if they get a question right or not and so took a while to make all the different slides. I'd hate to make a difficult game using it! Today I'm going along to Kingsway church in Exmouth with the ICE Team (hence creating the interactive powerpoint presentation). Then I've got James coming round (might try some of the Malaga training stuff with him and see what he thinks). Anyhows better get on so that Luke can plug his playstation 2 in and play some wierd game (!) I'm currently 'hogging' the plug with my laptop!! Have a good day! Friday, March 12, 2004
Just doing some late night e-mailing and thinking about walking tomorrow and just hoping really that the weather will perk up to make it possible...anyhows I really should be getting to bed cos I am really tired and youthgroup was very long, and the kids were rioting in the school today and because my body seems to demand that I get some!
Also looking at updating some of the http://www.SWYMing.org.uk website over the weekend and seeing if the sever problems for http://www.bigfattoothbrush.co.uk are due to too much traffic and how it can be sorted out. Cherrio!
Good morning! Just getting ready to go into school, had breakfast and a lovely hot shower. It's really misty and cold outside and so I'm not looking forward to going into school. Not too bad a day today - team meeting, a couple of lessons and then YO Club and Powerpack this evening. Just praying that the weather will get better for tomorrow's walk otherwise I'm looking at going into Exeter for a day out (which'll be nice!).
Found some good sites yesterday on my travels but my favourite is probably the confession of St. Patrick http://www.ccel.org/p/patrick/confession/confession.html , I also watched a very good program on Yahoo! Movies with Mel Gibson about the Passion. Judy and Pat from our church are going to see it in Plymouth today and so I'm going to get some first hand info about it later - I'll pass it on. Cya Soon! Thursday, March 11, 2004
Just sitting doing x-stream (youth discipleship course) on my laptop and sending those e-mails (well all but a couple of them). Also listening to Little Britain which is very funny on the radio on demand service from BBC which is great.
Had a ly-in this morning after a couple of crazy days of early mornings and late nights. The meeting last night with Peter Eastwood went really well and we discussed me staying at the church next year which all seems to be going through. Just looking at the whole SWYM assosiateship thing and how I'm going to be dealing with getting the finaces together to fund that (looks like doing a load of odd jobs!). I've just started doing some powerpoint work with the whole Malaga Training stuff that the Dicovery people sent me which is really ace - it looks at evangelism and how we need to be doing it. I think it could be a feature that I could use for bigfattoothbrush - I also want to see if it'll work as a discipleship/mentorship type thing. This afternoon I went into the prayer room - which as usual was great. Sang and danced a bit and did some praying and was inspired to do some work as well! Also had Supergang (youth club for infant school aged pupils) where we looked at the whole easter story thing and did some videoing of the kids talking about what they thought easter was all about before hand ("is it when we celebrate Jesus' birthday?"). Just about to do some more X-Stream stuff. Currently creating the whole leaders guide ready for it because there are a number of weeks when different people are in charge and it'll be good for them to have an idea of what they need to do. I'm also looking at getting some older younger people involved in leading the group - which would be really cool. Back into school tomorrow with the year 7's. Looking forward to YO Club and Powerpack tomorrow night and if the weather gets better I hope to be out on dartmoor walking (other wise it's a trip out to Exeter). Please also pray for a church called Christ Church in Exmouth which needs your prayers for unity and God's guidance throughout. Cummon!! Wednesday, March 10, 2004
Hiya, wow I was so tired when I wrote last night I was like falling asleep at the keyboard! Today has been a really good day, I've been to cluster which sometimes is a bit slow but was actually really good today - It was Catherine's Birthday (our cluster leader) and so we had a bit of a chilled morning and stuff and then went over to the imperial in Exeter for a beer and a meal (at lunchtime!).
We also had the guy from the Millennium volunteers come round which was good. I've got 200 hours now so wahey! I'm aiming for the 500 hours certificate. Also got a Health and Safety booklet to sort out and a first aid course coming up with the MV over the next couple of months which is gud! Tonight I've got a meeting with Peter and Judy followed by a housegroup on fasting. I've also really got to try and answer some of my ever building up e-mail and send out an update to my church mailing list. Better get on with it. Cya soon! Tuesday, March 09, 2004
Hiya, had a lovely couple of days been doing a lot of praying and stuff for church unity and for some churches to unite within themselves. made a really dumb model of a church using post-it notes as bricks on a foundation of God's word and truth with the holy spirit as a roof and the love of Jesus as a cross ontop of the church as a beacon to the outside. I also bound the bricks together with selotape!
Been into school today which was really good and even had a long walk to TESCO which was also quite fun! I've just been making a giant cheesecake and printing out timesheets because the Millennium Volunteer guy is coming along to cluster tomorrow which'll be nice. It's also Catherine (our cluster leaders birthday) so apparently we're going out (thanks for telling me guys!). Anyhows I'm going to go to bed because it's late and I've got an early start tomorrow. Cya soon! Sunday, March 07, 2004
Wow, what a 24 hours. Got the bulk of SWYMing up online yesterday though there's a couple of gaping holes. However prioritising to bigfattoothbrush.co.uk for today, cause it really needs it's March update!
Also yesterday had Dava and Carol Jewison over for tea, and it was really nice to talk to them about the day of prayer that they'd just had and looking onward towards beach mission and holiday club which is cool. Today I became a member of Brixington Church, which was nice (!), I just have felt so at home within the church I felt it was important to become a part of the congregation 'for real' so that happened this morning. I was also leading the older ones in the Sunday School this morning so we took at look at Jesus' death and how actually this isn't the end but the middle of a story, so we looked at the whole story right from the beggining of time with Adam and Eve all the way through to right now and the future, which was really quite good and a bit different for them. Just been out for housegroup lunch at Kay's which was really nice (I did some cheesecakes) and got to speak to lots of people which was really cool. Well I'd better get on with Bigfattoothbrush.co.uk as it doesn't update it's self! Cherrio Saturday, March 06, 2004
It's going to be one of those busy days!! Already done loads of stuff this morning including making two cheesecakes for the housegroup lunch tomorrow (which should be cool). Just sitting listening to Radio 1 working out what on earth I need to get done today and trying to make some priorities.
Yesterday was a good day (a rest and relaxation and reflection day after conference), I spent most of the morning working through a church membership course (I think I might be doing it a bit too deep because it's taking a l o n g time!). I also spent some time working on a flash introduction for SWYMing.org.uk which I hope to actually put online some time later today. Went out for lunch to the Power Monkey (our local wetherspoons pub) and had a very nice meal with Matt, Nadine, Katie and Dorothea. Went round to see the Egglestons which was very cool! They're all well and good. Then it was youth group which was busy. Got to try my new pre-evangelism cards from Discovery out which was good (they're playing cards with questions on them). I also shared my testimony with the older group which was good and they seemed to appreciate knowing why I did what I did. Anyway today I've got to do the whole SWYMing thing, Bigfattoothbrush update and a little top bar update for Aguilder as I've got some new address' in the network now! Anyway better go and get on with some of this work. Have a gud un! Thursday, March 04, 2004
I am back from conference in Finlake with SWYM and it has been awesome! Just in case you don't understand what on earth I'm on about Conference is a time when all the people under the SWYM umbrella (trainees, assosiates, leaders, applicants and a couple of others) get together for fellowship, community, communal worship and learning. There is around 50 trainees doing 3 courses (An MA, an OCR Diploma (I'm doing that) and a Marjons Diploma), there are also a good number of assosiates and stuff!
On Monday we kicked off by hearing from Matt Summerfield (the national director of Crusaders) who talked about 'Catching a generation rising' which was very cool and he had a very good pointpoint presentation that went along with his talk. In the afternoon we got a chance to talk more with Matt and he told us some more stuff. In the evening we had a 'chilled' session with worship done as a meditation on God's word (Colin read out Philippians from memory), then Matt spoke to us again and Jon did some musical worship for us. I got the chance to pray for some people which was really ace and was actually something I hadn't really done before. Tuesday we had leadership lecture which I hadn't been looking too forward to but actually turned out to be ok. For the first bit I helped Scottie Lesley to get her Baptism presentation up to scratch on powerpoint, then we had a debate where we were fighting for the loosing side but because we had more confident and better speakers (me and Steve) we came out on top. In the afternoon we had discovery who came to SWYM conference last year, so this session covered a lot of the same stuff that they'd done then. We had pastoral time after that. The evening session which we were leading on wednesday was moved to today so we were doing the whole prayer thing. It was really cool and the whole putting candles on the map thing that I was doing worked really well. I also got the chance to get prayed for and pray with some people which was really goos. I've also started to find that if I get to the evening session a bit earlier to do some prayer I'm ready when we start! Wednesday was another cool day at conference - it opened with Martin from Discovery (the youth bit of Agape) speaking. We pretty much had the discovery guys all day and in the morning they took us through an evangelism review. In the afternoon I went to an optional seminar (my first!) which the discovery guys where doing a thing on culture and looking at how we relate to those young people and where their 'morals' 'beliefs' and 'worldviews' come from. In the evening we had a guy called Roy Searle from the Northumbria community come and talk (an awesome chat) about being a church community and he showed us a really cool aninmation DVD with voices done by some Irish kids 20 years ago - Funny just doesn't get close! We also had a disco from Simon Tuck which was a real laugh and added a great social element to the week. Thursday (wow that's today) we had Catherine Tollerton and Jon Prockter doing Spiritual Disciplines with us and we also had another assignment set (isn't the word ass in assignment appropriate!) so that made my day!! Then it was time to go and so piling into the ICEmobile we came back to Exmouth and now I'm here typing this! I've got supergang soon and I'm about to have a late lunch! Cherrio!
