![]() click here to return to the index Wednesday, April 27, 2005![]() The boring nature of the election might just be sucking the life out of me :( Cake and Chocolate on the other hand don't! So if you haven't already realised the Election is happening next week! Shockingly the polls haven't changed that much, and all the parties are trying to get those crucial votes. I have an idea for them - stop being so boring!! Tony Blair's 'passionate' speach on the news was about as passionate as I am about the mound of washing sat upon the bede in my bathroom! Michael Howard is using words to try and hurt 'Tony' (or 'Tone' as I prefer to call him) but we all know from school that if you want to hurt someone you have to use sticks and stones (wow education did have it's uses!). Charles Kennedy is kind of like the 12 year old who thinks that he's ready to run daddy's business - His ideas sound great but nobody's really too sure how they'd work in practice. It's with all this running around in my mind that I come to suggest Pop Prime Minister (or the 'X' Factor (the x being the vote tick!))! Every night candidates come on and do something which politicians have to. There could be a jeering round, a cheering round, a bottom kissing round, a making crazy laws round, a stuffing the normal people round, a lying round (make that the first, everyone seems to be able to do it!) and finally a finger pointing to blame someone else round! It would be amazing, young people would watch to see Tony and Michael having a game of lie tennis, whilst the UKIP candiate looses out in the bottom kissing round after an 'incident' with the EU! It is boring though! I mean no wonder we have voter apathy when every night BBC devotes far too much time to filling us in about how Tony didn't wear a tie, Michael Howard raised his voice in a speach, and Charley is Scottish! I don't care. I'd like some news! Some action. Where's the Prescot punch? I crave excitment. But it doesn't look like it shall happen, so instead I shall look elsewhere and that will most probably bwe towards the biographies section of my book collection, oh Johnny Cash you did lead an extroadinary life... What do you think about the whole general election thing? Share you comments by clicking 'comments' below. God Bless...

I suppose my biggest problem is that I think politicians are lying to the public all the time - they just can't help it, it seems to be part of the job.
I just heard 'Charley' on radio 4. He sounded quite funny, and yet he seemed to be very honest. It was a breath of fresh air though still rather boring. I also like cake and chocolate!
put them in a room with a bottle, first one out with the bottle wins - no rules. saw your message on de lisle site, cool to see what youre up to
come on we have t believe in a system that at least gives the chance for something to change. Although i think it should be more proportionate reprepresentational..
BORING!!!!! It seems to me that all the candidates are the same. At least in America our candidates had some serious differences...Andy write about something interesting!
Love
Hey well now that the election is over what do you think? I liked the cool spraypaint map that some students did with all the different colors.
Andy I hope you're not mad at me because I didn't come to your talk on Sunday! Did you get my text? see ya
Wow lots to answer, sorry I haven't been around for a while, been increadibly busy, and of course I'm not mad with anyone Emma! The election was in the end a boring inevitability, I suppose proportionate reprepresentation would have made it a bit fairer but at the same time it's about having a representitive who can fight for your particular area and place - maybe the borders are a bit unfair though! Anyhow the election is over, should probably do some site editing (that and some work!). God Bless...
Incidentally, as I believe I'm who you voted for ... I'm rather concerned you found it all so depressing!!
Ooooh! I voted for a lib dem as well - but also found it most boring! Maybe it's because no real change seems to have happened and the bush blair taking over the world (kind of like pinky and the brain [though who's which?]) is still on course. Anyone want to place a bet on another illegal war?
I like the pinky and the brain analogy, indeed, which is which? Bush seems to be a numpty but then again when he says jump Blair says how high...I think that's pretty crafty.
why thank you :) I think that Bush pretends to be stupid (you've got to hope really!) and secretly is replacing world leaders (like Pinky - ahem I mean Mr Blair!) with robot clones... That makes him Brain.
