![]() click here to return to the index Thursday, March 31, 2005![]() Only two more days until Feeder! How very, very exciting!! It's a chilly Thursday morning in Loughborough, Andrew Guilder sits at a desk listening to Feeder's most recent release 'Pushing the senses' just to check that he knows all the lyrics for Saturday night's gig at Brixton. He is also wondering when his lift for going out for the morning will come - at that point he would have to click and post with whatever had been typed - a feeling of great excitment was with him! Seeing Paul and Emily again this morning whilst Anne is having some teeth work done (oooouch!, got Sim Walker coming around for a photo shoot at 5pm this afternoon, and a DRAT meal this evening which should be jolly good fun (though burning what is already a burnt out wallet!). Travelling on the National Express tomorrow to Camberley - was the only way of doing it minus a tube journey - and with enough of them coming up Saturday I decided to give it a miss! Anyhow got to go! God Bless... Tuesday, March 29, 2005![]() Listening to Sim Walker on my computer! I really like the New Day track it's quite fantastic! Morning! What a busy little bee I have been. I have been updating and re-designing the Sim Walker website, which now looks incredible (if I don't say so myself!). I now have six of the tracks so I should be able to get some samples onto the website (hurrah!) in the next week or so. I should be meeting with Sim again later this week to add some bits & pieces, and to do a photo shoot! I have also been answering e-mails from lots of you! It seems that the contact button on the site was a great idea! Keep them coming and I shall try and make sure that I reply to them all! Gmail is super grand by the way, I'm just about to start forwarding all my e-mail accounts into it, then when I want I can download my e-mails into thunderbird (all for free!). It also collates e-mails for you which is a v.useful function! Ahead of me today is a hot shower, a walk up to the Taylors to see Anne, Andy, Paul & Emily and to spend some time seeing them! My bus ticket arrived this morning for Camberley on Friday (after one postage day not four - thank goodness or I would have been a wreck!) and then it's Feeder (which I'm just a little excitied about) on Saturday!!!!! Anyway, I'd better be going! Today's point of discussion on the comments board is what kind of Easter Egg do you prefer, are you a hollow egg, creme egg, mini-eggs (cadbury, smarties, milkyway?), plastic eggs with jelly beans in, or an egg and flour fan? And if more than ten people comment I shall share mine!! God Bless... Monday, March 28, 2005![]() Eggs are for omelettes...Not Easter! What a great line just wish I'd thought of it myself - those young people at Emmanuel are geniuses! (Image: freeimages.co.uk) Well I hope none of you are suffering from chocolate hangovers. I still have to touch my egg after having a very large Easter day roast and shed loads of pizza after the evening service at Emmanuel. Last nights evening service was fantastic, lots of stuff going on and the young people from the cell groups leading! The DVD rap at the start (including the aformentioned genius line) set up a great service that included another spot on talk from Chris Hodder (Our theology cannot stop at the cross, it must include the ressurection!), and a spot of extreme pegging. One particularly shocking statistic mentioned by Chris Hodder was that if a massive worldwide rally was held and 1,000 people came to christ every day it would take around 10,000 years for the world's population to come to Christ. However if each Christian was to bring one person to Christ and to disciple them to do the same each year it would take 35 years! Bit of a challenge really (hence the extreme pegging thing!). After the service there was a chance for chilling out which was super grand. It was great to catch up with people and to beat the Loughborough Lib Dems candidate Graeme Smith on the dance mats! Graeme was one of the youth workers for our church a couple of years ago and is the first person I've ever met who's standing to be an MP and doesn't just lie at you! As you may know I'm quite into politics though I don't really have a party allegience, however knowing Graeme and seeing his enthusiasm and what he's doing I know where my vote will be going! It's been good catching up with all sorts of people! Hello to you all! Got lots of cool stuff happening this week - meeting up with Sim this afternoon, at the Taylors tommorrow and Drama Team meal on Thursday (just to mention a few highlights!). Also continuing to organise stuff for the Brix. Spoke to Jeremy Kimber and Dave Morris yesterday who are coming to perform a classical music concert as part of the Big Brix Bash. What they are looking at doing is so exciting and really thrills me! Just got to start sorting out all the promotional stuff for them and sort out tickets (which though free are still to be created). Very exciting! I'm meant to be on holiday though so I might go and have a nice cup of tea, chomp on a bit of my Easter Egg, Listen to some music, and then get on with some website stuff. Have a great day yourselves. God Bless... Sunday, March 27, 2005![]() Christ Has Risen! Go out and tell everyone the good news of the gospel! Friday, March 25, 2005![]() Good Friday - The name always used to disturb me as a kid, how on earth could it be good. Then when I became a teenager I just suddenly understood how this guy took the death that I deserved... now that's good! Morning! Watched Bill Baily's Part Troll DVD last night which I must say provided much amusement. The musical comedy was quite fantastic and the only part that I found myself not laughing during was the drugs part of the show. The BBC News musical part was incredible (apparently the BBC news theme tune is reminisant of apocalyptic rave music!) and the German version of Hokey Kokey by 'Kraftwerk' is just amazing. Well worth getting a copy, having a nice meal and drinking some squash and eating some biscuits during the proceedings! Been starting to put some websites together. One in particular that I'm building for couple of friends and me, is a joint blog project - which is very exciting - called the sofa of love (www.thesofaoflove.co.uk). I think it will be pretty random having seen the evidence of the other bloggers! Anyway I've got some Rail Tickets/Coach tickets that I need to buy for my travelling around the country next week. That's not going to be too cheap (just what a an with no money should be doing!). Thanks for all your comments yesterday - I shall take them into consideration. Today I want to know what your favourite song is and why! God Bless... Thursday, March 24, 2005Morning, Morning! Back in the familiar 'burbs of Loughborough - how jolly exciting! Train journey here yesterday was both a nightmare and a blessing; Nightmare in the sense that a barrier stopped working near Bristol Parkway and so the journey to Birmingham took an extra 45mins and meant that I missed my connection (eventually had to go via Leicester and arrived an hour and a bit late!); Blessing as I got to meet some lovely people, including Carrie and her talking Parrot, and Sarah who was writing an essay on the angry dance from Billy Elliott. Was all rather amusing! Anyhow I want to share with you some things that I have learnt from dating... 1. When asked why you are late for a date - saying "Aliens abducted me because I looked clever then returned me once they realised the truth" is apparently not humorous. 2. It seems that saying "Oooh I could murder some meat - what you up to tonight?" is in fact not a funny phrase it is very vulgar and can be taken highly offensively. 3. For some strange reason some people feel embarrassed when you ask the restaurant for some hush so that grace can be said with the correct reverence and awe. 4. Never ask someone to explain a bit about their particularly boring sounding University course. The content it seems outplays even dullness of the title. 5. It is not worth talking about the literacy genius of Chaucer and Wilde to someone who thinks that Eastenders and Neighbours are the height of drama and anything in prose just cannot compete. 6. Some people just don't care what '5 down' (An area of view 5,6,2) was! 7. Do not take a large sip of a cup of tea as you about to cough. This can result in an action know as 'spit tea over your present company' and can further lead to a 'you stupid burke' reaction! 8. Imitating your date's remarkably odd laugh is seemingly unfunny and not at all amusing to anyone - REALLY! (though others did hold napkins up to their faces!). 9. Apparently graveyards DO only have one purpose, and that IS burying the dead. 10. Always look at experiences positively. Just think you no longer need to look at that person thinking I wonder what it'd be like to meet them, and next time you can pass! Action packed day ahead. Got some personal web editing I want to do, a couple of people to catch up with and all sorts of other stuff to do. Probably shouldn't spend lots of time typing this then. Why not leave a comment with your own personal dating tip? Could accumulate a nice collection that may or may not help me! God Bless... Wednesday, March 23, 2005Wow, very busy day ahead, got to get going and shouldn't really be posting! Just heard from Pete and Av in Siera Leone, got Ziggy (the cat) begging for food and my washing to sort out before I leave (and even on the way I have to do some jobs involving a lot of walking with a large bag, which makes the whole experience so much more fun!). Had a fun day yesterday doing some secret church stuff in the morning, meeting Helen in the afternoon, then having Katie around for dinner before an evening of Peter Kayage (!) at Abi's. Twas indeed most splendid. Need to start eating properly, it is the only thing hampering my efforts to be Miss World (along with fact that I'm a man, and I don't look good in a swimsuit!), the newspaper round is getting me fit - though is most definately contributing to the unsightly bags under my eyes. Talking of food I haven't yert eaten and strongly feel the urge to! Have a good day. God Bless... Monday, March 21, 2005![]() Coming up to Easter, all the groups are over for three weeks. Time to tidy up, go back to Loughborough for a week and plan for the next term! Must just mention that the cat has been sick this morning. Was very unpleasant, but this time I didn't follow suit, spraying the room with 'Summer Fresh' airfreshener and throwing kitchen towel over the offending pile of mess. If you can't see it or smell it, it's a lot eaiser! Got lots to get done in my couple of days before going back to Loughborough for Easter Hols: Need to learn how to use the washing machine in my new house, tidy the kitchen & my room, mop all the floors, do some 'secret church stuff', apply many beauty treatments with the hope that they might somehow pull off and win over a lovely lady! Listening to P.O.D. having uploaded my albums and singles of the band onto Media Player and have been updating Firefox with all the usual bits and bobs I like (a nice new theme [Phoenity], fireFTP and my Gmail notifier). Yesterday Church was very different, we had LOADS of extra people as three dedications took place (kind of like Christenings but without any water) and it took a very long time. So long that Sunday School was rather short, so the whole of holy week was covered in under 30 minutes including a DVD video I had created of images to the Jeremey Camp song 'This Man'. Even in the creation of the video my heart strings were tugged and I was humbled - the thought that Jesus took my place and my punishment was quite overwhelming. Used Magic Music Maker Silver and Nero StartSmart to create the video and DVD. Was very impressed with Music Maker's video element - gives the program a whole lot more use (especially as it was a freebie on a magazine cover). Got lots of web work I want to get done (update bigfattoothbrush, upload sofa of love, upload the-brix) but had better go and do some housework first. Have a jolly good day yourselves. God Bles... Saturday, March 19, 2005Just writing my article on my day of Letterboxing yesterday for a new website that I'm a part of (on line soon). As it's my day off I'm doing lots of fun stuff today! I'm meeting Matt Meriam and Claire Boulton for lunch, which I'm really looking forward to, then I have Judy, Abi, Helen and hopefully some others coming around for something to eat and to watch a DVD or two! Most jolly exciting. Finished my first week as a paper boy yesterday. It's giving me defined leg and arms muscles (how very exciting) and I feel like I've had more exercise than I ever had at the gym - no wonder you don't get fat people delivering papers! Might try and sell this tip as a diet alternative - "Andy's guide to getting fit - get a paper round!". Enjoying using my new computer, found a piece of software that came free that I actually like. Microsoft Money is a great program for organising finaces and comes with all sorts of useful things that tell you when you are spending too much. Super grand in my oppinion! Also putting music into Windows Media Player, I do love to have a variety of classics. So far Feeder, Travis, Elvis, FatBoySlim (oooh maybe he got a paper round!), Linkin Park, Nickelback, Led Zeppelin, The Ramones and Out of Eden have been added to my digital collection. Anyway, I need some breakfast and then I will get back on with this letterboxing article. It's all very nice at the moment! God Bless... Tuesday, March 15, 2005One month away and all these e-mails (oh my). Sorry if yours is urgent and I haven't replied I really am quite busy. That's because I now have a paper round every morning to earn another couple of quid and I also have lots of engagements (with people collecting things / having dinner / teaching stuff / presentations / leaflet creation / youth group planning and more. Really doesn't leave much time. Did have a good evening yesterday though, was feeling a bit down and Nadine came round and we did some painting, a Tesco trip, and then watched a kids movie whilst eating lemon cheesecake and after eight ice cream - mmmmmmmmmm. Anyhow, I'm waiting for the FTP transfer to finish so I can get sorted with all the documents ready for this guy who is coming tonight for dinner and to sort this out. Had better go and get on. God Bless... Monday, March 14, 2005I have returned, though my capacity is somewhat limited having only had my new PC on for 45 minutes or so. I'm now in my new house which is jolly exciting, I here whilst Pete and Avril from Church are away in Siera Leone (spelt well wrong!). New PC needs to have some software installed and on the lovely dial up connection I have I can see the 3000+ e-mails that I have missed taking a while to load! Anyhoo, it's great to have a new computer at last (avec dual layer DVD burner and 6 million pixel digital camera!) I can get on with all the work I've got to do and hopefully get back to posting on here as well. God Bless...
